See, Think, Wonder

27 March 2015

James brought in a Blackcaps flag to share.  We chose this for our see, think and wonder.
-->

I see ...
Blake  -the flag
Kayla – there is a fern in white –  to make things stand out they did it in a different colour.
Charlie – football leaf on it
Benjamin I can see a little ‘r’ beside the blackcaps – the capital R is very small and has a circle around it.
Isabella – I think its like versing (the r)
Neco – there is a little circle around it - the little r is a capital R
Connor – leaf looks like it is a logo because every time people play they have a logo on the front and a number at the back of their t-shirt
Cruz – the big leaf can be on any shirt who plays rugby, soccer or cricket or t-ball. The little r I think it’s for the cheer, cheering for the cricket people if they are winning.
Angelina it says New Zealand Black caps
Marcel the writing
X there are circles on the end of the black and there are white bits over it.  (What job do you think they do?)  to hang the flag.
Aidan – its like a triangle shape (actually no it is not like a triangle shape it has long sides and its called a rectangle.)
James C it has four sides.

What have we seen that is like this (logo)
Kayla – other New Zealand flags.
There is words on it so it can say black caps Blake
X- the leaf is big and the words are medium the words up the top are smaller than the other ones.
Neco – one word is big and one isn’t

Registered trade mark
No one else is allowed to us black caps only the New Zealand cricket players
Cruz noticed one on his All Blacks top – only the people allowed to use that logo sign are the New Zealand rugby people

Rolleston School has a tick for their logo.

Where else so we find logos
Lego
Coke
McDonalds

What does this logo mean? It’s a silver fern

See, Think, Wonder log
K- dark in the tunnel - it looks like there's bats in there because it's all dark and bats would like to go in there.
S- lumpy
C water coming down it
C- 2 white legs in the tunnel and I think there is an animal.
B- some sharp things - rocks
J. - the tunnel is dark
J - a face - looks like eyes, mouth and nose
C - a person in there - head, body and some legs
A - it has tiny bit of light in it.
M - I think a lion is in it - it looks scary
J - might be an owl - it looks like it's got wings.
I - I see a little hole - i think it is like an ant in there.
S - it's shady. It's like a light brown and dark brown.
A - it looks like there is a bed in there.  Black looks like covers and the white bit looks like a pillow.
B- it looks like it is very dark inside, tough and strong.

Then the talk started about bears living in there because they like to live in the dark, in caves.  I then told the children it was a log and asked if that changed their ideas about what they could see.  They said that they though that their ideas wouldn't fit in there.
